Amy Fisher Bruey is the university relations manager and project director for Capacity Building for U.S. Study Abroad (CB-SA) within World Learning’s Academic Exchange team. In her role with CB-SA, she manages the recruitment and selection of the CB-SA small grants competition and organizes the in-person and virtual workshop to build U.S. institutional capacity to diversify or expand their study abroad programming.

She also manages organizational outreach for U.S. higher education across projects such as the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD), which brings future leaders to the U.S. to experience the U.S. educational system, share their culture, and explore U.S. culture and values. Fisher Bruey works intra-organizationally to represent World Learning and publicize internationalization opportunities for higher education institutions at conferences nationally. She develops online course content and leads the design and implementation of annual conferences that bring together as many as 150 students to explore cross-cultural learning, civic engagement, and leadership. Fluent in Spanish, Fisher Bruey’s primary regional expertise focuses on Latin America and the Middle East. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and communications from John Carroll University and a master’s degree in international education from the George Washington University.
